Wireless Design Conference names Parthus Technologies director Michael McCullagh as Conference Chair

London, 3 August 2001 - CMP Europe, the organisers of the
Wireless Design Conference, announced today that Michael McCullagh, the
Technical Director for RF with Parthus Technologies, has been named as the
Conference Chair for the new event.

The Wireless Design Conference (WDC) will take place for the first time
on 15 - 17 May 2002, at the Business Design Centre in Central London. The
Conference is intended to provide a platform for the presentation and
discussion of new developments in the field of wireless and optical
communications. The event is targeted at design engineers working at the
forefront of these rapidly-advancing fields of technology. As a
high-quality peer-reviewed conference, WDC is expected to attract both
speakers and delegates from the telecommunications industry and from the
RF design industry throughout Europe and internationally.

Also running during the same three-day period will be Workshops in the
fields of Linear Amplifier Design, Wireless Networking/Bluetooth and
Broadband Wireless Access, along with a new Workshop focused on Software
Radio and Software-Defined Radio. A short course will address the popular
topic of "How to Design RF Circuits". A 2000m2 commercial exhibition will
complement the conference and Workshop sessions.

Paper sessions will include topics on the design of RF and mixed signal
components, ICs and subsystems for wireless applications as well as
network architecture design and system integration for wireless
communications systems.

Michael McCullagh will head a Technical Programme Committee of over 25
industry and academic experts across all fields of RF, wireless and
optoelectronic communications technology. They will be supported by a
Management Committee headed by Liam Devlin, the Director of RF Integration
with Plextek.

About Michael McCullagh

Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Huddersfield University and a
MSc in Microwaves and Optoelectronics from University College, London.
Since graduating he has worked as a RF engineer with BT Research Labs, and
subsequently at GEC-Marconi, where he designed HBT and HEMT RFICs
specialising in high efficiency power amplifier design. Between 1996 and
1998, he worked as a RFIC designer with the GPS company Symmetricom,
designing a single chip, GPS radio as well as a number of board level
products. He joined Parthus Technologies in 1998, and was promoted to his
