Parthus Technologies And Wipro Enter Strategic Partnership

>San Jose, Calif, & Bangalore, India, October 3, 2001 -
Parthus Technologies plc (Nasdaq: PRTH, LSE: PRH), a leading developer of
platform-level intellectual property (IP), and Wipro Technologies (NYSE:
WIT), a leading provider of semiconductor and system level design services
for the embedded market, today jointly announced an intellectual property
partner program between the two companies. Through this program, Wipro
becomes the first selected partner certified to implement and integrate
the full portfolio of Parthus platforms. This partnership agreement
expands the channel for the Parthus portfolio of mobile Internet
technologies and gives Parthus licensees access to Wipro's leading
system-on-chip (SOC) design resources.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Wipro is now an
authorised design services center for Parthus, and will implement various
SOC (system-on-chip) designs for licensees of Parthus IP platforms.
Parthus will also support Wipro with training, skills transfer and ongoing
support.

More significantly, the agreement allows Wipro access to the complete
portfolio of Parthus mobile Internet platforms and technologies. Wipro can
now leverage and implement these technologies in various SOC designs for
its global customer base. Wipro has design service and SOC engagements
with many of the leading OEM and semiconductor players in the wireless
industry.

"As Wipro is one of the world's pre-eminent SOC design services
organizations noted for the quality of its engineering talent, processes
and project management, they were the natural choice as our first
intellectual property design partner," said Eoin Gilley, chief operations
officer of Parthus Technologies. "This partnership delivers two principal
benefits to Parthus. Firstly it enables our licensees to access a first
rate design services resource. Secondly, as Wipro will have access to
implement Parthus IP platforms in their customers' forthcoming SOC and
mobile Internet designs, it greatly expands Parthus' channel reach."

Wipro is a leading technology services company with over 10,000
employees globally and over $600m in revenues in 2000. The embedded
systems group, based in India, has a highly skilled SOC design team whose
expertise base spans comprehensive embedded software, VLSI and system
level-hardware work, and in particular, complex SOC development. Wipro has
design services engagements with some of the world's leading wireless OEM
and semiconductor players including Texas Instruments, Nokia, Ericsson,
Intel, Microsoft, and Sun. The company also has existing design
partnerships with ARM and Symbian and is currently executing projects with
most of the leading foundries. The agreement with Parthus will furthermore
greatly expand Wipro's wireless intellectual property and design services
scope.

Mr. M. Divakaran, CEO of the Embedded & Internet Access Solutions
division at Wipro said, "Parthus possesses an extremely broad and advanced
portfolio of wireless communications, mobile multimedia and application IP
targeting the mobile Internet. Partnering with Parthus gives Wipro and our
customers access to this technology enabling rapid development of highly
advanced mobile Internet devices and solutions."
