Parthus launches InfoStream, the Industry's Most Advanced Mobile Internet-on-a-chip Platform for Next Generation SmartPhone Devices

San Jose, California/Dublin, Ireland - October 18, 2000 -
Parthus Technologies PLC (Nasdaq: PRTH, LSE: PRH), the leading developer
of platform level intellectual property for the Mobile-Internet market,
today announced the launch of InfoStream, the world's most advanced
Mobile-Internet computing platform on a single chip.

Co-developed with Psion PLC (LSE: PON.L), InfoStream is designed to be
the silicon platform for next generation wireless Internet devices,
including 3G Smartphones, Communicators, PDAs, automotive, Internet
appliances and wireless portable tablets. InfoStream leads the industry in
processing power, power consumption requirements and levels of on-chip
integration. The technology enables device manufacturers to drastically
reduce time to market for next generation wireless Information
devices.

The launch of InfoStream coincides with the announcement today that
Psion has signed a licensing and royalty agreement with Parthus to power
its next generation PDAs and for Motorola's next generation Smartphones.

The InfoStream platform is powered by Symbian and the ARM, and is
designed to take mobile computing to the next level by combining the rich
features of the PC with Internet access and mobile phone capabilities,
commonly know as Smartphones. The market for such devices is predicted to
explode in the next three years.Cahners In-Stat Group forecasts that the
number of mobile data/Internet subscribers will exceed 740 million by
2004. These devices allow users to surf an 'always on' web, read emails or
instant messages, store PIM data (e.g., address books), synch with their
PC and even word process (InfoStream can accommodate keyboard or phone pad
inputs).

While InfoStream has been designed to power Symbian, the platform also
supports a range of other operating systems, including Pocket-PC, Palm and
Linux. InfoStream's modular architecture is optimized for key technologies
such as GPRS broadband wireless communications, Bluetooth™ for
wireless local area networking and GPS for location based services. These
are all core technologies within the portfolio of Parthus intellectual
property for the Mobile-Internet.

data-centric handheld devices. The ARM 920T powered platform delivers
200MHz at 2.5V or 150MHz at 1.8V. Extensive power management features such
as clock gating techniques deliver ultra low power consumption.

Flexibility In Operating System:

While InfoStream is optimized for Symbian, the OS of choice for next
generation Smartphones, the platform can equally run Microsoft Pocket PC,
Linux and Palm OS. Symbian delivers superior performance and graphics and
is fully optimized for GPRS and Bluetooth. It also delivers the
richest array of applications to be found on the handheld platform,
including PIM applications, such as contacts database, agenda, world
