Parthus (formerly SSL) Names Seasoned Semiconductor Executive President of US Operations and V.P. of Worldwide Sales

DUBLIN, Ireland - December 7, 1999 - Parthus (formerly SSL), a
leading supplier of system-level intellectual property (IP) to the
wireless communications and consumer multimedia markets, today announced
that it has named William A. McLean president of U.S. operations and vice
president of worldwide sales. With more than 18 years of experience in the
semiconductor industry, McLean's marketing and managerial expertise will
be invaluable as Parthus delivers on its mission to provide IC
manufacturers quality system-level IP solutions for Internet
appliances.

"Bringing in Bill, such an experienced executive, further strengthens
Parthus's management foundation," said Brian Long, president of Parthus.
"His appointment as executive president of U.S. operations and VP of
worldwide sales will help ensure Parthus is working with its client base
of OEMs and semiconductor manufacturers to improve time to profit while
reducing development costs."

McLean joined Parthus from Authentec, a Biometrics firm focussed on
delivering fingerprint recognition technology, where he was vice president
and chief marketing officer. Prior to joining Authentec, he was vice
president and general manager of worldwide sales and marketing for Harris
Semiconductor. From 1994 to 1997, McLean was vice president of OEM sales
at Fujitsu Microelectronics. Prior to rejoining Fujitsu, McLean was vice
president of sales and marketing for start-up firm Advanced
Telecommunications Modules Ltd., an ATM technology-based company located
in Cambridge, England. McLean began his career at Texas Instruments where
he spent 12 years in various sales and marketing positions.
