Agilent signs Portfolio License Agreement with Parthus for range of Industry-Leading Mobile Internet Platforms

San Jose, Calif. and Dublin, Ireland - October 25, 2000 -
Parthus Technologies PLC (Nasdaq: PRTH, LSE: PRH), a leading developer of
semiconductor intellectual property for the mobile Internet market, today
announced that Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) has signed a portfolio
licensing agreement for a range of Parthus mobile Internet technology.

Under the terms of the agreement, Agilent will gain access to Parthus'
BlueStream Bluetooth platform and InfoStream mobile computing
platform as core technologies for its next generation deployments. By
quickly implementing the BlueStream and InfoStream platforms, Agilent will
be positioned to dramatically improve the time to market of
inter-connected post-PC technology devices.

Both platforms are architected to combine low power consumption
requirements with high levels of on-chip functionality; key factors in the
success of mobile Internet devices. While both Parthus platforms can be
combined in one chip solution, BlueStream and InfoStream are also designed
to operate as stand alone platforms.

The power of BlueStream enables a range of Bluetooth
applications that ensure transparent wireless connectivity between a wide
range of devices, such as connecting PCs and printers, cell phones and
vending machines, and CD players and headphones, without the need for
cumbersome cables. Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba formed the
Bluetooth SIG, the specification's guiding body, in 1994. The SIG
now has over 2,000 members and includes just about every major technology
and telecommunications company worldwide.

InfoStream is a core mobile computing platform that supports a wide
range of post-PC devices, using either the Pocket PC, Symbian, Palm or
Linux operating systems. With InfoStream, users can surf an 'always on'
web, read emails or instant messages, store PIM data (e.g., address books)
and synch with their PC. The market for such devices is predicted to
expand dramatically in the next three years. Dataquest forecasts that the
number of mobile data/Internet subscribers will exceed 800 million by
2003.

"The key to the success of the mobile Internet is convergence", said
Xavier Pucel, semiconductor research manager at IDC. "Consumers will
demand greater functionality included in next generation devices. Parthus
and Agilent are ideally positioned to play a key role in the mobile
Internet by delivering two core technologies - Bluetooth and mobile
computing - enabling the rapid creation of easy-to-use mobile information
appliances."

"We are delighted to have signed our first portfolio license having
been chosen by Agilent as its core provider of mobile Internet
technology", said Brian Long, chief executive officer of Parthus.
"Bluetooth and mobile computing are key components of the mobile
Internet and Parthus is clearly positioned as a provider of both
platforms. Portfolio licensing agreements allow blue chip companies like
Agilent to source their mobile Internet requirements from one company,
thus significantly reducing their time to market for next generation
devices."
