The Xpert Video is a development platform that focuses on image, video
and audio application development. The Xpert Video provides application
developers an early start on application development, reducing time-to-market
and increasing final silicon confidence. The Xpert Video includes a wide
set of peripherals that enable the application developer to get as close
as possible to the final DSP application without the need for the final
silicon.
The Xpert Video is aimed at the development of imaging and video based
algorithms such as:
- MPEG4 encode and decode
- MP3, AAC WMA audio algorithms
- JPEG encode and decode
The Xpert Video enables the user to develop and test video and audio
based applications without the need for the final SoC. Video and still
images are captured from the CMOS or CCD. Encoded video and still images
can be decoded and displayed on the LCD screen. Audio based algorithms
can be developed using the stereo audio inputs and outputs on-board.
The Xpert Video accepts all CEVA DSP cores. Each DSP core is provided
with a Core Adapter board that is mounted on the Xpert Video platform.
Users can use the Core Adapter board and mount it on their custom boards.
