The AFE board serves as software development and verification hardware
that demonstrates the capabilities of CEVA DSP cores for voice over IP
(VoIP) and audio processing.
The AFE board consists from several boards (full set - three boards)
and it is equipped with FXS front end, audio in and out, Ethernet, 2 x
RS232, +12V input, SD/MMC interfaces. Also AFE has digital interface with
several CEVA core adapters and interface to LCD. Construction of the AFE
has carrier and mezzanine parts. The AFE mezzanine functionally is intended
for FXS. The carrier has all above interfaces and in addition it has LED
indicators, DIP switch and miniature push buttons. CEVA core adapters
receive power supply from sources mounted on the AFE carrier. The AFE
supports the following Core Adapters (CA) and FPGA CA: Xpert-TeakLite-II
CA and Xpert-Teak CA.
