CEVA Powers the Networking Market
CEVA’s DSP and IP Cores Power Femtocells, Picocells, Microcells, Macrocells, VoIP, Disk Drives, and the Smart Grid
Today’s networking and communications systems involve a wide variety of wired and wireless technologies. Of particular interest are Wireless base stations, including femtocells, picocells, microcells, and macrocells. In addition to voice and data, many systems are seeing ever-increasing requirements for VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and video supported over the most recent HSPA+, LTE, and LTE-A networks. All of these systems demand a tremendous amount of digital signal processing (DSP) horsepower in order to deal with the bit rates and complexity of these communication standards.
In the case of the evolving Smart Grid, Power Line Communication (PLC) can be used to transmit data by impressing a modulated carrier signal on the wiring system. Also, various wireless standards (including Zigbee, WiFi, and LTE) are being adopted for different communication segments within the grid. Flexible communication Digital Signal Processor (DSP) solutions are ultimately required to cope with this variety of standards.
CEVA is the world's leading licensor of programmable DSP cores. To better serve the networking and communications markets, CEVA provides a portfolio of application-specific DSPs offering the highest flexibility and performance, along with associated subsystems, a comprehensive suite of optimized library functions, and a complete development environment.
Furthermore, in today’s digital world there in an ever-increasing demand for storage. Dramatic advances continue to be made in the capacity, form factor, and performance of Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) and Flash-based Solid State Drives (SSDs). These technologies provide low-power Storage Solutions in diverse markets ranging from Tablet Computers to Enterprise Servers.
Serial ATA and SCSI Cores
To further reduce the cost, complexity, and risk in bringing products to market, CEVA has established an ecosystem of partners who provide reference designs, complementary IP, design services, and complete solutions based on CEVA’s DSP cores and Platform Solutions.
